Family First Alaska provides both Supervised Visits and Supervised Exchanges for families on the Kenai Peninsula who have received Court orders for visitation monitoring, or who's lawyers have agreed on Supervised Visits.
We are a proud member of the Supervised Visitation Network, an international membership network that establishes standards, promotes education and advances professionalism in the field of supervised visitation.
Our mission is to play an active role in assuring a child, or children, will have safe, supervised, stress free contact with the non-custodial parent, in a stable and proper environment.
Our obligation and oath is to protect the child from the parents' conflict, and offer the positive influence and support that can help a child best cope with an unhappy situation they did not create.
Family First Alaska has access to a strong and competent advisory council of Law Enforcement Agencies, Mental Health experts, Child Therapists, Family Coaches and Attorneys.
We keep current on our education about protecting children during family disruptions, which includes knowledge of parenting skills and the impact of parental conflict on children, how to put parenting agreements into effect, and the responsibility of both parents to comply with custody and visitation orders.
We understand that children often feel they are the cause of their parents' situation and feelings. They may be fearful and withdraw completely, or act out and test the situation. We have extensive knowledge in child development, and basic training in substance abuse and domestic violence. We come equipped with the strategies to handle a myriad of difficult situations.
Our commitment is to always be prepared, unobtrusively observe, accurately record, responsibly report, and comply with court orders while supporting a positive environment for a child to spend time with their parent.
